Hello all, I hope you are all keeping well. I cannot believe it was March when I last wrote a blog!!! Promise to self.....I must write more often with some kind of news, who knows it might be interesting to someone!!!
Now I don't normally do themed bears, the last Halloween bear to be born here, was 2 or 3 years ago. Just felt the need to do one this year. I hope you like her.
MAGIC is a 6" bear made from a minty green on chocolate background mohair. She is cotterpin jointed, has glass eyes & is heavyweight poly & steel granule filled. Her hat has a vintage spider brooch for effect. She comes with her handpainted bucket & broom. Oh & she has a lace ruff around her neck.
You will find her on Bearpile

Well it's certainly been a while since I last did a post, just been so busy doing other things.
Have managed to squeeze in some bear making though, mostly in the evenings. So posting some pics for you. All can be found on my website.

Golly I can't believe it's been over a week since I posted anything....where does the time go!!! & we're in February already!!! The weather here in Britain is just typical British weather....rain, rain & more rain.
Anyway I have been sitting doing my favourite past time, making bears. The first two I'm showing you are from a lovely hand dyed plush I bought from Russia. Well to be precise it came as a kit. Now it's been years since I bought a kit, it was something I did in my early days of bearmaking & they never ever turned out like the bear in the picture!!!
Anyway I have a liking for the Eastern European bears & alot of them appear to be made out of this plush. Nearly always hand dyed & sometimes vintage.
The bigger bear all 8" of him is the kit bear & the smaller 5" bear, Luca, I squeezed out of the leftover plush.
The last bear is Herbie, who started life as a two tone bear made from a couple of small pieces of viscose. He never did anything for me as two tone so I dunked him in a bowl of navy dye for a couple of hours & here's the result.  I knitted him a pair of shorts & a matching beanie hat to finish him off.

Been a while since I last did a post, but I've been keeping busy making bears & keeping warm. It's not often, here in Britain, that we have such prolonged cold weather, well I suppose it's not raining!!! These three bears I have been making over the last couple of weeks, they can be found on my website or Bearpile

Well having survived the artic blast over the last couple of days it is now raining, & still quite cold, so what better way than to stay indoors, in the warm & make bears. I hasten to add that the bears I am posting haven't all been made in the last 2 days but have evolved over the last fortnight of this new year. These bears can be found on my website & Bearpile
