Tuesday 2 December 2014

Now I know I haven't blogged much lately, but I have entered two bears in a photographic competition. Luckily the photos aren't being judged, just the bears. So I'm adding the photos here, & if you feel you like the bears enough, perhaps you could vote for them.
The competition is the INTBAA & Victoria is in the best dressed bear section & Thea is in the best dressed mini bear section.
Thanking you in advance xx.

Busy painting at the moment, have Weald & Downland Christmas Market coming up at the weekend. This is a huge event, stands in all the old museum buildings, stands dotted about the grounds, & queues to get in. The traffic jams last year were rumoured to be up to 5 miles long!!!! & literally thousands of people.
Anyway posting 3 pics of bears for you, 2 just finished & the little yellow chappie I posted awhile
back but have now named him & painted a little pastry tin for him to sit in!!!!

Autumn is now here with us, although here in the UK the weather is unusually warm.
The leaves are falling & making a lovely carpet of oranges & golds.
With Autumn in mind & Halloween around the corner, I am introducing new bear Pickety Witchety. She is 4.5", made from sassy fabric, with sparkly green eyes & a sparkly nose.
She is fully cotterpin jointed & her pads are made from vintage black velvet. Her rather fetching skirt is made from orange chiffon, with a black ribboned bow around her waist. Her little hat is made from felt topped with a rusty bell.

Leila
Went to Findon Sheep Fair on Saturday. I have been doing this fair for the last 12 years & each year it seem's to get bigger & better. I had my best year ever with 5 bears being adopted, 3 of which are pictured below.
A great deal of painted stuff was sold also. So now I'm on the hunt for some junk to paint!!!

Wednesday 10 September 2014

I made these two bears a few weeks ago for a friends wedding. I wasn't able to make it to the evening reception because of a poorly dog!!! but I did see her yesterday so was able to give them to her. I can now show them to everyone!!!

Tuesday 9 September 2014

Not had a lot of time for making bears recently, but have managed to finish this one....Christopher, made from shulte string mohair. He is approximately 8.5".
Will be on the web site later. Also finished this letter rack, trouble is with painting
you have to wait for the paint to dry!!!! Take's so much longer to finish something
than making a bear, which obviously, you can pick up & put down as you like.
Also finished another heart commission for someone, this time with a cat. Not
something I usually do as I'm not really a proper artist.

Monday 8 September 2014

Well some of the bears & myself are off to a pop up shop this morning. This shop is available for rent to anybody wishing to advertise their wares. I'm in with some lovely ladies whose love of craft & needlework are renting it for the next two weeks, so we shall see what happens!!!

Saturday 6 September 2014

Finished yet another commissioned Christmas heart, my one remaining candle & a teapot clock.

Monday 1 September 2014

I took this photo very quickly yesterday morning, before putting the items in the car for the craft fair. As they didn't sell I will take better photos sometime this week. You can't really see the decoration on the candle holder & snuffer & the little coal scuttle has a lovely blue/white ceramic handle. Doesn't pay to do things in a hurry!!!!

Sunday 31 August 2014

Off to a craft show today. Have to take some photos of some of my painted stuff that I finished last night, before I go, so will post those tomorrow. Have a nice day wherever you are.

Friday 29 August 2014

Two diaries finished. These are slimline week to view , not quite the quality of my day to view diaries but then they are cheaper.

Little Jennie Wren 4.5". Posted her on my facebook page
yesterday afternoon, she was adopted this morning!!!

Thursday 28 August 2014

Got some more painting done yesterday, but never actually finished anything. Did get to photograph the little bear I had finished though.
Bo 4.5" viscose bear

Wednesday 27 August 2014

Finished a little 4.5" bear Monday night, but as yesterday was such an awful day light wise, no photo as yet. Today is just as bad. Still I am doing some painting as well so hopefully, sometime in the next couple of days I will be, posting pics of both bear & paintings!!!

Saturday 23 August 2014

Looking at my page views this morning it would appear that my blog is of great interest to those of you in the USA, more so than in my own country of Great Britain!!!! Not sure what that could mean!!! Anyway I do appreciate those of you who take the time to stop by. Thank you.
This little chap doesn't have a name at the moment
but he is a whole 5.5" of cuteness
