When I was out with the dogs this morning, very early, I heard an owl hooting. I'm hoping it is the resident Barn Owls that usually visit our field at this time of year. These photos were taken last year, the top pic, he's on the hunt, second pic is after the kill, & the third pic is him chilling on the fence post. Both the male & female come, sometimes together, to hunt on the field because it is left on the rough side, & apparently that is what the owls like.
If they do come again this year I'm hoping for better photos 'cos we have a new all singing, all dancing camera now!!!

My lovely eldest grandson Sam.
Sam has been in the Royal Engineers for almost two years now, & has just finished his second stint of training at Chatham in Kent. He was at Winchester initially, where he "passed out". The above photo is of him from the passing out parade. He has now flown off to Gibralter to visit a friend, before returning to his new permanent base, Tidworth.
I do have a proud nana moment where I can say that Sam finished his course at Chatham top of his class.
The second photo is Sam & his nephew Bobby, (my great grandson!!!!) I have to say it is one of my favourite photos.
