Had a fantastic day yesterday at the Southdown Folk Festival, the weather was beautiful & the buyers came in their droves. 3 bears & 2 bunnies found new homes along with some of my painted trash/treasure.
It's on again today but sadly I only booked the one day!!!!

Showing you a picture of Vincent, not long finished. He is an 8.5" bear made from a gloriously soft, vintage velvet plush. I haven't fully stuffed his body so he has a lovely squidgy feel. He is wearing sari silk ribbons finished with a heart & safety pin. Can be found on my website lanesendbears.com or Bearpile.com
I am also in the throes of making some bears for Jenny-Handmade Happiness. This is a wonderful shop owned by a lovely lady who I have known for years. So far I have made 2 x 2.5" mohair bears, these I don't make often because they are so fiddly!!! I shall also be making similar bears, probably from viscose for keyrings. I'm just finishing a 6" mohair bear, also for the shop. Will photograph these when they are all done & dusted, before posting them off to Jenny.

Well I have to say, despite the foul weather yesterday, I didn't have a bad day at Findon Sheep Fair.
This is usually a good show for me, although the weather has been a lot kinder to us in the past, luckily I was in the marquee!!! In the 15 or so years that I have been doing it, I can only remember it raining twice before & not to the extent that it did yesterday!!!
Anyway 6 bears & 2 bunnies found their new homes, along with some of my other crafts, so all in all I came home very happy, if rather soggy.

Listing Ellie-Mae, she will probably be the last bear for a few days as I am busy doing other things at the moment. They will be listed on my other blog spot over the next few days. elscountrymakes.blogspot.com

This morning I have 3 new bears for you, been busy this week!!!
Rusty a 6" bear made from vintage (found in my late mother's attic) corded cotton plush.
Indigo another 6" bear made from handmade, hand dyed nuno felt. A process of will fibres either side of muslin. The fibres migrate through the muslin & felt, whilst the muslin gives the felt extra strength. No I did not make this, I bought this from a lady who makes all this kind of stuff.
Lastly Duke a 9" bear made from viscose. He wears a handmade sweater & leather waistcoat with a recycled sari silk ribbon scarf to finish his look. (These are made by me)
As you can see by the photos, I am making the most of photographing outside while the weather holds!!!
These bears can be found on my website lanesendbears.com or Bearpile
