Introducing Eli a little 5.5" bear made from mohair.
Also shown is the rabbit I said, the other day was in the making. She is made from vintage velvet. I'm not quite so pleased with this little one as the brown one I made last week, but I feel you have to try different fabrics, & for me this hasn't worked this time. Never mind someone will probably like her. As for Eli, I'm never disappointed with this pattern & it seem's to work in the two fabrics I have used so far!!! Maybe I should try velvet for this bear at some point.....we'll see.
Have a good day, it is raining here & very overcast at the moment.

The other day I mentioned that I was going to have a go at designing a rabbit. Well before I got round to doing that, I was browsing some other blogs & came across Olive Grove Primitives. Lisa designs & sells her patterns on Etsy so I cheated & bought one. Dilly is the finished result. I'm now in the middle of doing one of the same in vintage red velvet. Will post a photo when it is finished.

Just put 3 bears & a mouse on Etsy. Really must try to sell some of these bears I make, my work room is fit to burst. Craft shows start in March so maybe some will find new homes from then on. Perhaps if I start painting again then the bears will take a bit of a back seat, trouble is I just love doing the bears.

The wind has howled & blown all night & is still going now. Lost a couple of tiles off the roof, but we have been so lucky considering we are so close to the coast. I feel for those poor people who have had all the floods & power cuts & hope that sometime soon this weather is going to go away so life can return to normal.
I have new bear for you, I actually finished him just after Christmas, but have only just got round to photographing him....& he still doesn't have a name.
Made from mohair, 5 way cotterpin jointed, glass eyes with droopy eyelids.

Not much going on at the moment, other than trying to stay dry & safe. I have to say where we are we have been quite lucky, despite living so near to the coast. The lane where we live is flooded at the beginning as is the lane to the main road. But here at home we have had very large & sometimes deep puddles, but that is all. The trees have stayed upright, although it was quite hairy watching them bend in the high winds. Must get them topped when the weather calms down a bit & if the tree surgeon isn't too busy!!!! Not finished any bears so far this week, although there are two WIP.
Stay safe, warm & dry wherever you are.
